About PETG Tungsten 75%

Prusament PETG Tungsten 75% 1.75mm 1kg is a highly specialised filament designed mainly for radiation shielding purposes. Tungsten (also known as wolfram) powder inside the PETG filament is a heavy metal that does not react with water and is resistant to oxidation at room temperature. Unlike lead, tungsten is hypoallergenic and non-toxic. This makes it perfectly suitable for creating complex X-ray and gamma-ray radiation-shielding components (not only for medical applications) in an easier and faster way compared to conventional methods.

Printing Setup

  • Nozzle: 260c +/- 10c
  • Heatbed: 80 +/- 10c
  • Recommended Bed Plate: Textured / Satin 

Tips and Tricks

It is necessary to use a hardened steel nozzle. Tungsten powder is a highly abrasive material and may damage a brass nozzle.

  • This PETG Tungsten is made in-house by Prusa Research
  • 1.75mm filament is manufactured with precision of +-0.03mm
  • Before printing, make sure the surface of heatbed is clean
  • The recommended maximum temperatures for drying Prusament PETG are 60c for 4-8 hours
